چکیده
Abstract In this work, the near-field radiative heat transfer (NFRHT) between two Weyl semimetal (WSM) nanoparticles (NPs) is investigated. The numerical results show that negative differential thermal conductance (NDTC) effect can be obtained in system, i.e., when temperature of emitter fixed, flux does not decrease monotonically with increase receiver. Specifically, 300 K, identical receiver 50 K or 280 K. NDTC attributed to fact permittivity WSMs changes temperature. coupling effects polarizability WSM NPs have been further identified at different reveal physical mechanism effect. addition, NFRHT greatly enhanced by exciting localized plasmon and circular modes. This work indicates maybe promising candidate materials for manipulating NFRHT.

Negative differential thermal conductance through vacuum
We propose a scheme for achieving negative differential thermal conductance in near-field electromagnetic thermal transfer. As an example, we show that the scheme can be implemented with two slabs of silicon carbide brought in close proximity to each other. We also describe how a bistable thermal switch can be constructed in this manner. VC 2012 American Institute of Physics. [doi:10.1063/1.367...

متن کاملElectromagnetic response of Weyl semimetals.
It has been suggested recently, based on subtle field-theoretical considerations, that the electromagnetic response of Weyl semimetals and the closely related Weyl insulators can be characterized by an axion term θE·B with space and time dependent axion angle θ(r,t). Here we construct a minimal lattice model of the Weyl medium and study its electromagnetic response by a combination of analytica...
متن کاملCharge transport in Weyl semimetals.
We study transport in Weyl semimetals with N isotropic Weyl nodes in the presence of Coulomb interactions or disorder at temperature T. In the interacting clean limit, we determine the conductivity σ(ω,T) by solving a quantum Boltzmann equation within a "leading log" approximation and find it to be proportional to T, up to logarithmic factors arising from the flow of couplings. In the nonintera...
